Acclaimed cellist, Julian Lloyd Webber, is one of an array of artists who will take to the stage for this year's Scottish celebrations of BBC Proms In The Park in Glasgow Green on Saturday 8 September 2007.
 From cello music to Celtic tunes, bass-baritone to choral harmonies, Scotland's BBC Proms in the Park, in association with event sponsors NS&I, will showcase a myriad of musical styles with performances from Samoan bass-baritone Jonathan Lemalu, Skye ceilidh band the Peatbog Faeries, Carnyx soloist John Kenny and the National Youth Choir of Scotland, conducted by Christopher Bell.
Sally Magnusson and Jamie MacDougall (Caledon) host the free event which, once again, sees acclaimed conductor Robert Zeigler commanding the evening's entertainment alongside the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
Also making a debut at this year's Proms In The Park is Scotland's oldest musical instrument – the Carnyx. Shaped like a wild boar's head, complete with movable tongue and lower jaw, the bronze Celtic trumpet will be played by John Kenny and promises to make quite an impact.
Julian Lloyd Webber is excited about his forthcoming Scots show: "I am so looking forward to playing at this year's Proms In The Park which, in a very short time, has become one of the biggest events in the classical calendar. And I am especially happy to be playing in Scotland where the audiences are as warm as anywhere in the world."
And, for the first time, music lovers in the Highlands will be able to experience the magic of the BBC's Proms In The Park with a unique – and free – big screen celebration of the key musical event in the glorious surroundings of Cawdor Castle, Nairn.
Making up part of the Highland 2007 celebrations, the BBC Proms In The Park concert will be beamed live from Glasgow to the stately grounds of Cawdor Castle in front of an audience of 600 music lovers.

All five BBC Proms In The Park events are sponsored by NS&I (National Savings and Investments), the government-backed savings and investments provider.
NS&I has returned as sponsor this year in a three-year deal to support the events until 2009. The BBC's Glasgow Proms In The Park is mounted in partnership with Culture & Sport Glasgow and the Glasgow City Council.
Funders of the event include Glasgow City Council and Glasgow: Scotland With Style. Logistical support in mounting Glasgow's Proms In The Park is provided by events management staff from Culture & Sport Glasgow.

This year's Proms In The Park is part of BBC Scotland's year-long calendar of music celebrations – Scotland's Music 07.
From festival fever to smooth jazz sounds, indie pop to classical proms, live gigs to Celtic jigs, Scotland's Music 07 celebrates a myriad of music styles across BBC Scotland Radio, TV and online – further highlighting it's place as the home of great music.
Each year, BBC Proms In The Park brings the magic of the Last Night of the Proms to more than a million people across the United Kingdom in five locations – Glasgow, Carrickfergus, Tees Valley, Swansea and London.
Each location hosts a different programme of music, culminating in a live link-up between London's Royal Albert Hall and the other park events around the country.
Televised highlights of all five Proms In The Park will be shown as part of BBC One and BBC Two's live coverage of the Last Night Of The Proms.

BBC Radio 2 broadcasts the Hyde Park concert nationally and local BBC Radio networks broadcast events in Glasgow, Tees Valley, Swansea and Carrickfergus.
