International competitors join world-class artistes including José Carreras, Joan Baez and Hayley Westenra for the 61st International Eisteddfod taking place in Llangollen 10-15 July..jpg) The Musical Eisteddfod is a world-renowned festival of music, song and dance. Competitors from more than fifty countries come together for one week to stand side by side through music, while each evening the Pavilion plays hosts to concerts by world-class artists. The event will attract some 50,000 visitors in total. In addition to the prestigious evening concerts the organisers have planned for daytime competition and performance along the themes of International Childrens Day, International Youth Day, International Celtic Day and International family Day. Each year the colour and excitement of the Eisteddfod spreads into the streets of Llangollen town. Join the fun as international performers in their traditional costumes parade through the picturesque town centre and over the famous bridge - just as they have done since the very first event took place in 1947.
