February 2007 Casio Electronics Co. Limited, today announced the launch of the PX-200 and PX-800, two new models in its Privia series of distinctively stylish digital pianos. The new Privia digital pianos utilise Casio's new "Triple Element AIF Sound Source" to provide richly expressive and realistic sound. Privia digital pianos have won a popular following with their stylish design and realistic piano performance. Thanks to a full range of models to choose from, combined with reasonable pricing, more than 400,000 have been shipped worldwide since Casio first introduced Privia in 2003. Both the latest Privia offerings, the PX-200 and PX-800, achieve a more natural grand piano sound with the "Triple Element AIF Sound Source,"* which uses a filter capable of outstanding acoustic reproduction, as well as a high-performance touch detection system (256 steps, double the steps in previous models) for much more sensitive expression of musical dynamics. The maximum polyphony is 128 notes, four times higher than previous models, and the damper pedals no longer instantly cut off notes, but offer a more natural, lingering sound. The pianos' basic performance has also been enhanced. Thanks to a large capacity waveform memory twice the size of previous models, they deliver highly realistic reproduction of grand piano sound. Moreover, their acoustic resonance system reproduces the harmonic effect of strings when damper pedals are used. In addition to all this, the new SD memory card slot improves flexibility for storing and reproducing music data. The two models are briefly introduced below. PX-200 ![]() This compact, lightweight model with a slim, simple design that can be set up anywhere is convenient for moving from place to place, with a main body weight of just 12.0 kilograms. Equipped with a 2-way bass-reflex speaker for a rich, broad sound range. An optional CS-66P stand and SP-30 3-pedal unit that offers half-damper capability is also available. The chic light wood body colour gives the PX-200 a contemporary look. PX-800 ![]() An integrated model with stand and pedals, the PX-800 includes a sliding keyboard cover, which preserves its distinct stylish form even with the lid open. Equipped with four powerful high-output 2-way speakers (20W + 20W) and a 3-pedal unit capable of half-damping expression, the PX-800 achieves true reproduction of the rich sounds of a grand piano. This model's two-tone cherry wood body materials and chromed metallic parts give the PX-800 an elegant finish. Both pianos will be available in the UK from February 2007 Price guide: PX 200 £799, £899 (with stand). PX 800 £999 www.casio.co.uk |
