| Oxfordshire County Council Music Service |
In addition to teaching instruments to thousands of young people in Oxfordshire, as part of our commitment to life-long learning we offer a range of activities to adults who wish to pursue their love of music. We currently have groups for string, acoustic guitar, flute, clarinet and saxophone players who meet weekly, 30 times a year, at the Centre for Music at Bayards Hill School, Headington on Thursdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. The groups cost £81.80 each for ten sessions. We offer: Groups of various sizes and standards. Advice on technique. Advice on the care of instruments. Performance opportunities. Links to specialist instrumental music organisations and societies. We don’t currently have a brass group, but if you play a brass instrument please get in touch and if there is enough interest we may try to arrange a group. We are also hoping to start an Early Music group if numbers permit, to explore Medieval and Renaissance music on historically authentic instruments (we have some instruments available – basic knowledge of recorder fingering would be an advantage). Please contact us if you are interested or visit our website and search under 'Music' in the site index. |
