Composer and arranger. Ian's music is essentially tuneful and accessible, with an emphasis on beauty of sound. As well as commissions for professional groups, and arrangements for artists including Nicola Benedetti and Nicky Spence, Ian has written many works for amateur groups including Dances Overheard for string quartet (2006), which is based on British dance tunes, Crosby Symphony Overture (2003), and many pieces for unaccompanied choir. Ian was shortlisted for a 2005 British Composer Award.
