Music, Creative Music Technology, Drama and Music Therapy are exciting, challenging and important fields of study. They all necessitate a breadth of approaches to their study that engage students in a wide spectrum of ideas and practices. From the study of texts, theories, performances and compositions, to the analysis and practice of performance, students are encouraged to be creative, critically engaged and intellectually curious about their subject. Through a range of performance and practice-based modules students develop skills as performers/composers/producers, whilst also extending their theoretical knowledge and understanding of their subject.
The Department of Music and Performing Arts provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, which can be studied full-time or part-time. All courses are delivered at the Cambridge campus.
